Biography

Anna Orhanen is a London-based writer, editor and photographer. Her recent projects include nonfiction book editing, journalism, copywriting and content production, proofreading, translation and ghost writing. In the past few years she has also worked as a writer and deputy editor at Londnr Magazine and as a foreign language specialist at Thomson-Reuters. 


Anna's background is in academia where her research interests included the aesthetic experience, selfhood and comparative aesthetics. She wrote her PhD at King’s College London (2009-2013) on self-understanding and reading in Marcel Proust. The project was supervised by Dr Johanna Malt and Professor Patrick ffrench and generously funded by Finnish Oskar Huttunen Foundation. After completing her PhD, Anna worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London teaching Literature and Critical Theory, returning to KCL a Visiting Postdoc Fellow in 2015-2016.
